A look at the projects worth donating to in Round 22 of Gitcoin Grant

This round of Gitcoin GG 22 donations mainly include OSS projects and 7 community-led rounds. The difference from the previous round GG 21 (see Selected Gitcoin Grant 21 Round Worthy Donation Projects ) is that this round of donations tends to focus more on crypto infrastructure, dApps and developer projects. In addition, Gitcoin Grant 22 also integrates the Quick Bridge function, which allows users to cross bridges and swap on the platform.

Odaily Planet Daily has selected four of the more important OSS program rounds in the GG 22 donations for further introduction.

In addition, as the US presidential election approaches, cryptocurrency advocacy organizations are also worth paying attention to. The deadline for donations to selected projects is 22:59 on November 7th, Beijing time. The following is a detailed introduction to the recommended donation projects. Click the corresponding link to go directly to the project donation page.

This section aims to support Web3 developer tools and libraries, enabling developers to efficiently build projects in the OSS and Web3 ecosystems, focusing on development frameworks, interoperability tools, smart contract libraries, and data analysis tools. The matching pool amount is 300,000 USDC, with a total of 46 projects. The following are recommended donation projects:

TurtleShell

TruleShell is a Web3 security tool that uses ERC-7265 (the circuit breaker mechanism on the Ethereum standard) to protect smart contracts. It introduces an on-chain firewall to detect malicious activities on the protocol and prevent hacker attacks. When abnormal activities occur, the TurtleShell firewall will provide a series of protection measures, including transaction blocking, protocol suspension, fund freezing, or control of fund withdrawal.

Passport XYZ

Passport XYZ is the former Gitcoin Passport, an on-chain identity and reputation mechanism application built on Ceramic Network, usually used for anti-sybil and identity authentication, where users can collect various identity certificates (called seals) from Web2 and Web3 authenticators. Friends who are interested in Lumao may be familiar with it. Many interactive tasks of projects require KYC through Gitcoin points or Gitcoin passports.

Blockscout

Blockscout is an open source blockchain browser that helps users conduct in-depth searches, interact with contracts, and verify contracts on the EVM chain. It currently supports on-chain transaction information queries for more than 600 networks, and recently completed a $3 million seed round of financing led by 1kx.

growthepie.xyz is a free on-chain data analysis platform focused on Ethereum’s scaling chain. It provides basic chain metrics, including on-chain active addresses, transaction volume, TVL, Gas, chain revenue, transaction token valuation, and market capitalization. In addition, growthepie.xyz recently added a new label category page, where users can filter by chain, category, subcategory, and individual project and contract type. This makes it easier for users to view various chain metrics.

DefiLlama

I won’t go into too much detail about DefiLlama, as users who view the data are all familiar with it.

wevm (wagmi )

wevm is a TypeScript programming tool for Ethereums React Hooks and VanillaJS libraries, and is also used by applications such as ENS, Optimism, Coinbase, Stripe, Shopify, Farcaster, Zora, PancakeSwap, Gitcoin, etc.

Ethereum Staking Guides

Ethereum Staking Guides is a guide to staking on the Ethereum mainnet and testnet. It is used for staking on Ubuntu and is a simple and reasonable staking introduction tool for Ethereum ecosystem users.

BrightID

BrightID is an identity proof solution dedicated to anti-sybil proof in the Web3 field. It does not require biometric verification such as Orb like Worldcoin. It now has Goolgle Play and App Store versions. However, BrightIDs peak period was in 2021, and its token and market value are currently average.

L2BEAT

L2BEAT is similar to DefiLlama and is also a commonly used Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain data analysis platform.

Dappnode

Dappnode is a decentralized infrastructure platform that allows users to easily host their own decentralized applications (dApps) and blockchain nodes. Dappnode can easily host and run various types of blockchain software, such as Ethereum, Bitcoin, IPFS, etc. The platform also provides users with a user-friendly interface to manage and monitor their nodes.

GG 22 OSS - dApps and Apps

This section aims to accelerate the adoption and development of open source dApps and applications that provide novel utilities or services in the ecosystem, including dApps and applications that enhance Web3 accessibility and usability, as well as some applications that contribute to financial inclusion, education, and social impact. The matching pool amount is 300,000 USDC, with a total of 148 projects. The following are the recommended donation projects:

Hey.xyz

Hey.xyz (formerly Lenster) is a decentralized, permissionless social media application powered by Lens Protocol. Built on the Polygon network, users can seamlessly interact with dApps without paying any gas fees. Lens Protocol is a decentralized social graph built by Aave. Compared to other social media, Hey requires less personal information and is extremely private.

Superchain Eco dApps

Superchain Eco is an incubation platform focused on Superchain and the wider adoption and development of Ethereum L2. It mainly provides products, governance, strategy, business, and market solutions for projects in the Optimism and Superchain ecosystems, and can also provide free services to projects on the Optimism mainnet. Superchain Eco has currently received support from the chairman of the Celo Foundation and the CEO of Talent Protocol, but Superchain Eco is not an official project of the OP ecosystem.

Event Horizon

Event Horizon is a DAO governance forum for public interest and public access governance pools. It aims to empower the majority of small voters in each DAO citizen to vote. Event Horizon has developed a novel governance mechanism: Implicit Delegation. Its voting pool does not vote based on the decision of one person or one group, but votes based on the collective cognition of hundreds of Event Horizon voting pass holders, which enhances the decentralization of the DAO and allows the DAO community to receive more long-tail distributed voices and meaningful suggestions.

Nextme

Nextme is a cross-platform decentralized social economic network that supports 26+ EVM and Solana chain, focusing on creator economy, similar to Farcaster integrating PayPals Venmo. The platform allows each user to have their own account and relationship, data ownership and revenue rights. Creators, brands, fans, and communities can better share information flow, discover interesting people, stories and gatherings, and earn income through creation and interaction within the crypto protocol.

The platforms Beta network has been running for more than 6 months, with more than 140,000 users worldwide. It is a permanent social protocol on Gitcoin.

Revoke.cash

Revoke.cash is also an old project on Gitcoin. It is a token authorization tool used to protect wallets and applications. It can manage user wallet token approvals and perform wallet authorization cleanup. Regularly revoking application authorization can increase wallet security.
