From AI Meme, to AI Agent, to AI technical framework, AI narrative in the Crypto world has developed rapidly. Now, people are beginning to pay attention to the next evolution of AI narrative, and pay more attention to specific application narratives, such as DeFAI or AI + games. So, what AI game projects are worth our attention?
Parallel Colony
Parallel is a TCG (trading card game) on the Base chain, which is affiliated with the Echelon Prime Foundation. In 2021, Parallel completed a $50 million financing led by Paradigm. Other investors include YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley, Focus Labs, OSS Capital, and Yunt Capital.
Parallel is already available for players to play. In addition to Parallel, Echelon Prime Foundation is also developing Parallel Colony, a survival game that integrates ERC-6551 technology and allows players to cooperate with AI. Players give tasks to AI agents, and AI agents complete them on their own. They will communicate with other AI agents and also communicate with players to give their own game ideas. AI agents will also trade autonomously in Parallel Colony.
This game will be open for testing in the first quarter of this year. In addition to Parallel Colony, Parallel has also developed an AI-driven full-chain automated trading tool @AIWayfinder , which is quite like an all-in AI.
Smol Worlds
Smol Worlds is an AI game being developed by Smol Brains, the core PFP project of the Treasure DAO ecosystem. The person in charge of this game is Shaw, who is now well-known in the AI Crypto track. He was the first to develop the Treasure DAO ecosystem.
In Smol World, each Smol Brain will be able to play on-chain games as an AI Agent, stealing each other’s assets for PvP, and the game will be integrated with the Eliza framework.
Eternum
This is an on-chain sandbox strategy game for the Loot(Realms) ecosystem, on the StarkNet network.
Its founder @lordOfAFew proposed a system called Daydream, which enables AI Agent to play games on the chain. The special thing about Daydream is that it does not make AI work like a robot through pre-coding, but makes AI have autonomous consciousness.
To put it simply, first of all, AI is not told by humans in code the game is like this, you should do this and that, but understands the game mechanism on its own, takes corresponding actions, and even writes corresponding code. Secondly, if the game mechanism is updated, the AI Agent does not need to restart, but can propose a merge PR to humans to strengthen its own capabilities.
In future Season 1 games, Eternum will inject hundreds of AI Agents into the game through Daydream, acting as PVE or NPC characters in the game, coexisting with players in a competitive gaming environment.
AI Arena
This is an AI gaming project that we introduced in 2022 (Related reading: AI Arena, NFT AI Arena led by Paradigm )
In AI Arena, NFT game characters will play a platform fighting game like Nintendo Super Smash Bros. Whoever knocks the opponent out of the map first will win. The biggest difference from Nintendo Super Smash Bros. is that during the battle, players cannot control their NFT game characters, and all actions are driven by AI.
This game project has now been shaped into a larger brand, ARC Agents, which aims to improve AIs reasoning and adaptability to the real world through research on game AI agents. ARC Agents announced a strategic partnership with Eliza Labs on January 7.
Super Champs
The above are all projects that directly introduce AI technology into games. There are also some blockchain games that do not introduce AI into the games themselves. However, rather than saying it is “freeloading”, I would rather say that it is a positive action to actively approach market hotspots, because the quality of the game itself is still very good.
Super Champs is such a blockchain game, backed by Joyride Games, which announced more than two years ago that it had received US$14 million in financing from investors such as Coinbase Ventures, Animoca Brands, and Dapper Labs.
They have created an AI that can live broadcast and commentate on games and interact with comments, but it can only commentate on its own games.
