Hackathon Summary
EDU Chain Hackathon: Semester 1 was successfully concluded in 2024 with a large number of participants and significant results. The event was hosted by Open Campus and attracted 725 projects, 4,672 developers, and a prize pool of $200,000. After selection, a total of 20 winners were selected from two main categories - DeFi and Infrastructure, and 12 winners from four other categories.
Judging criteria focused on ecosystem impact, innovation, and scalability, and were evaluated by representatives from organizations such as Animoca Brands and Open Campus. Winners will join the EDU Chain developer group in the Open Campus accelerator program, receive DAO proposal support, and receive media exposure through platforms such as Forbes. They can also join a dedicated Discord channel to communicate with judges, and each project has potential funding support opportunities of up to $100,000.
The hackathon is a key event for decentralized application development on EDU Chain, an L3 Rollup within the Arbitrum Orbit Stack that aims to enhance blockchain-based education solutions. Sponsorships from companies such as Forbes Web3 and ApeCoin highlight the growing integration of blockchain in the education industry, reinforcing the broader mission of democratizing education.

Blend-lending protocol for educhain : Provides education loans collateralized by $EDU tokens and provides stable assets such as USDT. The protocol uses secure and transparent smart contracts governed by $EDU token holders.
Streambill : Leveraging the Sablier Protocol and Request Network to provide real-time payments to freelancers, enhancing invoicing and payment clarity.
stakedu : A staking platform for $EDU tokens that provides rewards and dynamic allocation management to increase participation in the EDUchain ecosystem.
P2P Lending and Borrowing Protocol for Ordinals Powered by EduChain : Provides loans collateralized by NFTs with interest rates up to 350%, and its smart contracts can combine Ordinals across networks.
